OUR APPROACH

Founded in Khayelitsha in 2003, Velokhaya has grown through consistency, commitment, and clear standards. Our work is defined by how we operate: structured training, shared expectations, and a long term commitment to development on and off the bike.

THE ORIGIN STORY

Velokhaya was established in 2003 with a clear intention: to create a structured environment where young people could commit to cycling, education, and personal development.

What began as a small operation in Khayelitsha grew through consistency and high expectations. From the outset, the emphasis was on discipline, accountability, and progression, both in sport and in learning. Over time, the programme expanded, strengthening its coaching, education, and support structures.

"Cycling, education, and discipline work together. One does not exist without the others."

— Sipho Mona, General Manager

"Velokhaya is defined not by where it started, but by how it works."
